Gómez attends Clean Slate informational session at Mt. Zion Baptist Church
State Senator Adam Gómez (D–Springfield) joined community leaders, legal advocates, and local residents at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for a Clean Slate Informational Session focused on educating the public about the Commonwealth’s new record-sealing and expungement laws. The session was held in partnership with Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts, New North Citizens Council, and Neighbor 2 Neighbor.
“A criminal record should not mean a lifetime of blocked opportunities,” said Senator Adam Gómez. “I was proud to speak at the Clean Slate information session at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday to highlight why this legislation matters—for individuals, families, and our entire community. I support this policy because we all deserve a fair shot at the future.”
The Clean Slate initiative allows individuals with certain criminal records to seal or expunge their records after a designated waiting period—offering a second chance at housing, employment, and full participation in civic life. The session is part of an ongoing effort to increase outreach across neighborhoods disproportionately impacted by the criminal legal system.
