Gomez joins the Cat in the Hat for a License Plate Announcement at Springfield Museums

On the eve of Dr. Seuss’ grand birthday party celebration, State Senator Adam Gomez (D-Springfield) joined the Cat in the Hat for a special announcement at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts. During the event, the Springfield Museums launched the online auction of low-number Massachusetts license plates featuring the Cat in the Hat, with proceeds supporting the Springfield Museums, home of the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss.

“A deep sense of regional pride and philanthropy is at the forefront of this initiative by the Springfield Museums,” said Senator Adam Gomez. “By purchasing one of these unique Cat in the Hat vanity license plates, residents in the City of Springfield and across Massachusetts will contribute immensely to the Museum’s mission.”

The auction bidding will be open from February 28 at 12 pm through Monday, March 10 at 5 pm. Proceeds from the plates will support the Museum's mission to promote literacy and learning. A full catalog of available plates can be viewed online at https://DrSeussPlates.givesmart.com where interested buyers can register in advance to receive updates. Registration is also available by texting DrSeussPlates to 76278.
