Senator Gómez Announces $224K Grant for Way Finders to Support Homeownership and Prevent Foreclosure
Senator Adam Gómez (D-Springfield) is announcing that Way Finders has been awarded $224,365 in state funding to support first-time homebuyers and provide foreclosure prevention services across Western Massachusetts.
The grant, awarded through the Massachusetts Division of Banks’ Chapter 206 Grant Program, will support housing counseling and foreclosure education programs serving residents in Springfield, Berkshire County, and Hampden County.
“Homeownership remains one of the strongest pathways to long-term financial stability and generational wealth,” said Senator Gómez. “This investment will help families across our region access the support they need to purchase homes, avoid foreclosure, and remain rooted in their communities.”
Way Finders provides critical housing counseling and financial education services to families navigating the homebuying process and homeowners facing housing insecurity.
“At a time when housing affordability remains one of the greatest challenges facing working families, trusted organizations like Way Finders are essential partners in expanding opportunity and housing stability,” Gómez added.
The Chapter 206 Grant Program awarded $2.15 million statewide to 24 organizations supporting homeownership and foreclosure prevention initiatives.
